Last Day...
Our students are AMAZING!
They have done a phenomenal job this whole week... Raising money two days before we left to help with Hurricane Alex damage, brought Spanish braille bibles and a typewriter, ministered to the blind, ministered to the special needs orphanage, bought supplies and put a roof on a house, led VBS to over 50 kids, bought brand new soccer balls for kids and built relationships with many young people in the community!
This morning we went to the market and found some good stuff! We then took the girls to Pastor Paul's house where there were several girls from the church and community that hung out and had a good time playing volleyball, soccer, American football (in the mud) and slip-n-slide...
The guys went to the church facility and we had games of soccer, American football and baseball (my personal favorite).
We had a great time!
Tonight we all had our last team dinner at El Ranco (we had amazing flautus!)
I am so proud of our students... They have been amazing and have all grown close together! I am proud to be a part of this team with this group of students.
These students have simply been the feet this week...
Here are a few pictures of our last day. Our day begins tomorrow morning as we leave at 6AM!

Friday
This week keeps getting better!
We have got an All Star Team of Students, we really couldn't have asked for better Team Chemistry. Everyone is doing an above & beyond job of serving... Not only serving the people of Ciudad Victoria, but one another as well!
We began our day by leaving about 9:30 for the mountains! We were originally going to go cliff jumping, however, the water was rather high getting to that area of the mountains. So, Alex took us to a spot of the river that had a swing rope and then we let the flow of the river carry us down. It was fun!! Though we did happen to catch a few rocks here and there... But, everyone had a great time!
We ate a Subway lunch at the river and then we went to Acquiles Serdan (the community where we put a roof on Jorge's moms house).
We hung out with a lot of kids, told the story of Noah's Ark and acted out the animals (Molly and I can make a mean duo of dinosaurs)!
We sang some songs and played a big futbol tournament!
I stand amazed by our students and their willingness to serve... They are continually reminding me why I do what I do... I love to see students give all they have and serve our God!
This is a great team. God is doing great work here in Ciudad Victoria. We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Thursday
Busy day! But, it was a great day!
We had breakfast and left the hotel by 7:30!
We went to a house of a guy from the church (Jorge) and we made a roof for his moms house. Jorge is the only believer around in his community. He was very appreciative and we believe his family was appreciative for the work we did at their house! They were affected from Hurricane Alex a couple of weeks ago and they have been without a roof.
The cool thing about this was, our team raised about $250 from a car wash and were able to pay for supplies needed for the roof. (Props to Kristen Beck for heading that up!)
We also had machetes, hoes and rakes to clear out a lot of grass and weeds. Our team did an amazing job getting things done!
We also went to Acquiles Serdan (a school in the community) where we held a VBS and played futbol with the kids.
Ed, Kirsten, Kristen, Zach Maginnis and I finished up the roof and then joined over at the VBS.
We had a great day and are going to have a fun morning going to the mountains and then spending the afternoon at Acquiles Serdan putting on another VBS.
This is a great team! I am so proud of our students!
